Treatment with DC (6 µA plant-1) increased uptake and translocation of 36C1- ions, both to the leaves and to the stems of 15-d-old Chenopodium rubrum plants. In leaves the distribution of these ions remained unchanged in comparison with untreated controls, however, in stems a decreasing gradient from the shoot apex to the base of both ions was formed as a consequence of DC treatment. Neither uptake nor distribution of l4C-sucrose and 14C-labelled assimilates were affected by DC treatment.
