A Comparative Study of the Cold-Sensitivity of Pyruvate,Pi Dikinase in Flaveria Species

James N. Burnell

Centre for Plant Biotechnology, Graduate School of Science and Technology, Bond University Gold Coast, Q., 4229, Australia

Pyruvate,Pi dikinase (PPDK) was isolated and purified from the leaf tissue of a number of Flaveria species and the cold lability of the purified enzymes studied. The PPDK from F. brownii (a C3/C4 intermediate species) showed a high level of stability compared to other Flaveria species.
