DNA fragments which contain lily nuclear and plastid ribosomal DNAs were detected after Eco RI digestion of lily total DNA followed by Southern image hybridization. The cytoplasmic rRNAs hybridized to 2.5×106 dalton fragments, while the plastid rRNAs hybridized to 1.9×106, 3.2×106 and 2.2×106 dalton fragments.
