Effect of nitrate concentration in the medium on the flowering of Lemna paucicostata 6746

Addition of copper or tungstate to or exclusion of molybdenum from M-sucrose medium induced long-day flowering in Lemna paucicostata 6746 provided the medium contained sufficient nitrate. By contrast, ferricyanide, cyanide or silver induced long day flowering even in nitrate-deficient, M-sucrose medium.
