Department of Agricultural Chemistry, The University of Tokyo Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo 113, Japan

The effect of (–)-pestalotin, (+)-pestalotin and (+)-epipestalotin on the elongation growth of rice seedlings was studied. These compounds did not influence elongation when given alone, although (–)-pestalotin and (+)-epipestalotin synergistically en hanced GA3-induced elongation.
