Partial purification and some properties of an L-
-amino-S-caprolactam-hydrolyzing enzyme from Cryptococcus laurentii
Basic Research Laboratory Toray Industries, Inc., Tebiro, Kamakura 248 Japan
A new L-amlnolactam-hydrolyzing enzyme was partially purified from cells of Cryptococcus laurentii which can grow on L-aminolactam as a carbon and nitrogen source. The enzyme required a bivalent metal ion, such as Mn2+ or Mg2+, and its molecular weight was roughly estimated to be 1.5×105 Some other properties were also studied.
