Increase of cytokinin activity in detached etiolated cotyledons of squash after illumination
Department of Biology, College of General Education, University of Tokyo Komaba, Meguro, Tokyo 153, Japan
Cytokinins nullified the lag period of the formation of chlorophyll in detached etiolated cotyledons of squash (Cucurbita moschata Duch. var. melonaeformis Makino cv. Tokyo). One hour after illumination, cytokinin activity in detached cotyledons rapidly increased and maintained a certain level for another hour.
