Composition of phosphoglycerides and glycosyl glycerides in castor bean mitochondria

Masayuki Ohmori1 and Mitsuhiro Yamada

Department of Biology, College of General Education, University of Tokyo Komaba, Meguro, Tokyo 153, Japan

Phosphoglycerides and glycosyl glycerides in mitochondria from castor bean endosperms were determined by silicic acid column chromatography using C-A and C-M as eluting solvents and by supplemental use of TLC. The small amount of glycosyl glyceride detected in the mitochondrial fraction may be due to contamination by other organelle(s).
