Translocation into mature leaves

Alice Wu and L. B. Thrower

Department of Botany, University of Hong Kong Hong Kong

Vigna sesquipedalis Fruw. was used to investigate whether translocation could take place into leaves older than the source. In control plants translocation was from the third to fifth leaf only, but when the second leaf was infested with Aphis craccivora Koch there was movement also into that leaf.
