Electron microscope studies of the vegetative cellular life cycle of Chlamydomonas reinhardi Dangeard in synchronous culture II. Association of mitochondria and the chloroplast at an early developmental stage1

At an intermediate stage in the growth phase of the cell cycle of Chlamydomonas reinhardi, mitochondria and the chloroplast associated with each other in a characteristic manner. After temporary association with the chloroplast, mitochondria seem to fuse into giant forms as reported previously.
