Growth and development in Phalaris III. Effect of temperature on critical daylength in geographic strains of P. tuberosa L.
Department of Botany, University of California Davis, California, U. S. A.
The critical daylength for flowering in Phalaris tuberosa L., a cold-requiring, long-day plant, increases with increasing temperature. The significance of this phenomenon is discussed in relation to the control of flowering time and the photoperiodic response mechanism.
